On Sunday December the 18th, Elon Musk created a poll on twitter, asking his millions of fans whether or not he should step down as the head of twitter. And over 57 percent of the respondents which is 10 million people voted yes. The results of the poll are in the twitter poll that billionaire Elon Musk recently posted regarding his position as Twitter CEO.

Also there was no immediate announcement from twitter or Elon Musk about whether he would actually step down. Musk said that he would abide by the results.

Following his 44 billion dollar acquisition, Elon Musk's new reign of twitter has been tumultous, since buying twitter. Over 7 thousand 500 or half of the company's employees have been fired.

He also suspended the twitter accounts of numerous journalists who had been covering twitter and Musk, among them reporters working for the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, and Voice of America. The United nations said they were "very disturbed" by the suspensions.

Musk's controversial new rules and policies on content moderation, has also seen many advertisers fleeing from twitter.

Later that day, thousands of fans gathered at a central Buenos Aires Square to celebrate Argentina's win in The World Cup final. President Alberto Fernández declared a national holiday Tuesday, so the country could celebrate the victory.

Crowds gathered at the Obelisk, and one man was seen waving an Argentinian flag from inside a window at the top of the monument.

As of early Tuesday morning, there were no official plans for Fernández or any other political leaders to take part in the celebrations. Despite earlier rumors, that the players would go to government house which was offered up for the celebrations according to Security Minister, Aníbal Fernández.

The World Cup and the success of the Lionel Messi-led squad has brought much-needed good news for a country that has been stuck in economic doldrums for years is suffering one of the world’s highest inflation rates and where almost four in 10 people live in poverty.

Pasukan khusus Pakistan menggerebek sebuah kantor polisi di distrik terpencil di barat laut negara tersebut yang dikuasai milisi Taliban, Selasa (22/12/2022) waktu setempat. Sebanyak 33 milisi Taliban dilaporkan tewas dalam peristiwa tersebut.

Menteri Pertahanan Pakistan Khawaja Mohammad Asif mengatakan, penembakan dilakukan terhadap milisi Taliban karena menolak bernegosiasi setelah menyandera sejumlah orang, termasuk sekitar delapan personel keamanan Pakistan.

Bahkan sebanyak dua sandera dinyatakan tewas dibunuh dalam peristiwa tersebut. Khawaja juga melaporkan sedikitnya 15 anggota pasukan kemanannya terluka dalam insiden tersebut.

Kasus ini bermula setelah kantor polisi yang menjadi tempat rehabilitasi para tahanan terorisme itu berhasil diduduki oleh para tahanan yang berafiliasi dengan Taliban.

Umat kristen di Palestina berkumpul untuk menyalakan pohon natal di jalur Gaza yang dikuasai Hamas. Sebelumnya, kelompok militan Hamas mengizinkan para pengawas kristen merayakan acara mereka sendiri, tapi tak diperkenankan di tempat umum. 

Perayaan berlangsung di Young Men's Christian Association di Kota Gaza yang bersamaan dengan perayaan serupa tetapi berskala besar di Kota Bethlehem di Tepi Barat. Para pejabat gereja mengatakan Israel menolak puluhan permohonan izin bagi orang-orang kristen Gaza untuk melakukan perjalanan ke Bethlehem. 

Di samping dua juta penduduk muslim di jalur Gaza, hanya ada sekitar seribu umat kristen yang mayoritas dari mereka adalah Ortodoks Yunani.

Sebelumnya, mereka selama bertahun-tahun mengalami blokade Israel-Mesir di Gaza.

The indonesian deposit lending institution have raised their foreign currency deposit interest rate at commercial banks by 100 basis points increasing it to one point 75%.

The head of the LPS Commisionr Board Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed that rate increase will come into effect starting from friday the 9th of Decmber until the 31st of January 2023.

Purbaya explained that the rate increase was done in a bid to attract more people to hold their foreign currencies in in Indonesia. Two Australians and a Canadian were safely evacuated by Indonesian navy after their yacht got engine failures at sea off Jakarta. On December 6, Indonesian navy and search and rescue teams responded SOS signal from the floating yacht dolphin by deploying navy ship KRI Spica 934 to reach yacht location.

The Yacht named Dolphin was planned to sail to australia from Malaysia but it then stopped at gulf of Jakarta caused by engine failures. The sailors who were identified as Australian and Canadian have to spent 2 nights floating at water North of Jakarta.

Now, both the yacht and three sailors who sail with it have been evacuated to national search and rescue agency in North Jakarta. Offical said that those three sailors were under treatment and procedure is ongoing. Indonesia has also communicated with australia to solve the incident.

Iran executed Mohsen Shekari who was convicted for a crime allegedly committed during the country's ongoing nationwide protests. It becomes the first such death penalty carried out by tehran.

The execution comes as other detainees also face possibility of death penalty for their involvement in the protests which brought unrest to tehran in mid September. Activists warn that others could also be put to death in the near future saying that at least a dozen people so far have received death sentences over their involvement in the demonstrations.

Iran's mizan news agency reported the execution. It accused the man of blocking a street  and attacking a security force member with a machete in tehran. Mizan news agency run by iran's judiciary identified the executed man as Mohsen Shekari.

Mizan said Shekari had been arrested September 25 then convicted November 20 on the charge of moharebeh a farsi word which means waging war against god.

Conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinians continues in West Bank. Currently three Palestinians were shot dead when Israeli stepped up raids in Jenin. Mourners gathered on Thursday for the funeral of three Palestinians killed during an Israeli army raid in Jenin West Bank. 

The Palestinian health ministry identified the three men as 46 years old atta Shalabi 29 yeras old tarek Al-Damj and 29 years old Sedki Zakarneh.

Israeli military said it was carrying out an arrest raid in the flashpoint city of Jenin when forces came under fire and then responded with live fire. Official Palestinian news agency, wafa, reported that confrontations and violent clashes erupted between residents of jenin and israeli forces early Thursday. 

It was not immediately clear if they were affiliated with a militant group. But Jenin and its adjacent refugee camp are a stronghold for palestinian militants.

A day after a sucide bomber blew himself at Astana Anyar Police office in Bandung, Indonesia police have questioned at least 18 people including the bomber parents and public activities have retuned normal. A number of police personnel are guarding the area around the bomb site. Although police line is still place in around the crime scene but the street is now can be passed by public as usual.

Two people were killed the suicide bomber and a police officer while ten  others were injured including a civilian due to Yesterday's explosion. Aaccording to police the bomber carried three bombs but only managed to detonate one of them, two others were later disposed by police' bomb squad unit.

Boy Rafly Amar head of Indonesia's National Terrorism Mitigation Agency BNPT was inspected the bomb scene Thursday. During his inspection Boy warned police to escalate their security at all facilities considering police become one of terrorists main targets.

According to the official terrorists consider police as a threat that will disrupt them from achieving their terror purposes.

The suicide bomber who has died instantly at the scene was a terrorism recidivist who served four years of jail term for his involvement at cicendo bombing in West Java. According to police the bomber was released from the country's maximum security island prison on Nusa Kambangan Island in last year.

Australia's Central Bank has raised its benchmark interest rate by a quarter point to 3.1% as it continues trying to wrestle down inflation. The increase was the bank's eighth in a row and took the rate to its highest level in 10 years.

Still, Australia's rate hikes have remained relatively modest and its key rate remains, lower than in many other countries, including the united states, where the federal reserve has raised its key interest rate to a range of 3.75% to 4%.

Reserve bank of Australia governor Philip Lowe said inflation remained too high at 6.9%. That's well above the bank's target inflation rate of between 2% and 3%. The bank noted the labor market remains tight with unemployment at 3.4% in October the lowest rate since 1974 and many firms struggling to hire workers.

The Indonesian watchdog for business competition or the KPPU are set to summon representatives of Google in the US and Singapore. Regarding allegations of monopoly over digital app distribution in Indonesia.

The chief spokesperson of Indonesian Business Competition Watchdog Deswin Nur said that the watchdog will summon google representatives this week and is coordinating with the Indonesian ministry of foreign affairs to deliver those summons letters to google's headquarters in California and Google Asia pacific offices in Singapore.

The KPPU have already asked for statements from google Indonesia but need further clarifications for other google offices. The Indonesian business competition watchdog is currently conducting investigations regarding allegations of monopoly by Google.

This is in regards to the company's requirement to use google pay billings for certain apps with service charges of 15 to 30 percent for each app purchase.

Indonesia's business competition watchdog, believes that such policies are unfair for Indonesian app developers as the service charges are too high. Prior to this those wishing to buy apps could use other payment methods that charge service fees below five percent much lower than google's service fee of 15 to 30 percent.

Spain has launched the first ice festival an international competition featuring some of the world’s best ice sculptures in Madrid with visitors praising the displays on Monday.

A total of twelve teams competed in the competition with sculptors taking part from ten different countries, including Canada, The United States Japan, Italy, and France, and the teams had seven days to finish their work.

Over one hundred tons of ice was used in the production of the sculptures which are kept frozen in a specially designed room. The winning exhibition was the Canadian entry by Julian Dore and Jean Francois Gauthier called invasion of dimensions.

With the melting of the sculpture inevitable, the exhibition's commissioner and winner of the 20-14 tournament Juan Carlo Arellano described it as a reflection of reality.

Kaesang wore the traditional material with the Sido Asih motif and the traditional weapon known as keris. However, this is not the wedding attire that he will wear next Saturday. The bride-to-be Erina was also not present.

According to Javanese tradition, the couple will not meet until the wedding ceremony. The wedding ceremony of Kaseang and Erina will apply the traditional Yogyakarta custom.

In Bandarjo Ungaran traditional market in Semarang price of chicken eggs went up to 30 thousand rupiahs per kilogram when they used to be just around 26 thousand rupiahs per kilogram previously.

Other than that the decreasing supply of chicken eggs from suppliers are a major factor in driving up the market prices. A mudslide unleashed by torrential rain buried a bus and affected two other vehicles on a highway central Colombia killing at least 34 people. In a statement, the national disaster risk management unit said, eight children were among the dead.

The mudslide Sunday divided a highway in two in the town of Pueblo Rico in the district of Risaralda. There were thirty-three people aboard the bus which was buried in two meters of mud and earth and a car with six passengers and a motorcycle with two people were also affected.

More than seventy search-and-rescue workers using backhoes and other equipment tried to reach survivors but they ended their search Monday afternoon after twenty-four hours. According to Colombia's national emergency management agency, the town had been under a mudslide threat due to heavy rains caused by the La Nina weather phenomenon.
